The Georgian Wine Society

The second of two medium sweet whites stocked by the Georgian Wine Society, this golden wine comes from the controlled appellation of Tvishi, located in the mountainous northern Racha-Lechkhumi region of Georgia. It is here that some of the oldest evidence for winemaking in the world has been found. Made from 100% Tsolikouri grapes, hand-picked into small crates, and using just the best free-run juice, the fermentation is stopped by chilling when the wine reaches just the right balance of sweetness.

This particular Tvishi has a more complicated and less sweet taste than other Tvishis, with an aroma of apple and even tawny port. It’s beautifully fresh and zesty, and finishes crisp and clean, with notes of quince and pear.
